Zhubanov university discusses new directions and plans in science and education
Zhubanov University held its first Academic Council meeting of 2025, where new directions and plans in the fields of science and education were discussed. The meeting reviewed key initiatives and changes aimed at enhancing the university's scientific potential and improving academic programs.
Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, Rakhym Beknazarov, highlighted effective methods for organizing the university’s research activities. These include expanding collaboration with industrial enterprises, encouraging student-led research, improving the work of dissertation councils, and engaging scientists in infrastructure projects. Other topics discussed included participation in international commercialization projects with the support of Heriot-Watt University, the construction of a new Center for Academic Excellence, and other pressing issues.
Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Lyudmila Myasnikova, emphasized the need to update higher and postgraduate education programs. Her report covered the introduction of a master's program in "Economics" in collaboration with Shenzhen University of Finance and Economics, updates to admission rules for educational programs, and several changes aimed at improving the quality of education.
The council also made specific decisions regarding the nomination of the university’s academic staff for scientific titles, the publication of monographs, and the approval of scientific and innovative projects by young scientists funded through the university’s non-budgetary resources.
Additionally, several awards were presented to faculty members during the Academic Council meeting. The university’s rector congratulated Associate Professor of the Department of "Oil and Gas Engineering," Candidate of Technical Sciences Akzharkyn Balgynova, on receiving the title of Associate Professor in the field of "Mechanical Engineering." Similarly, Associate Professor of the Department of "Mathematics," PhD Sandugash Mynbayeva, was awarded the title of Associate Professor in the field of "Mathematics."
