Scientists from Zhubanov university conduct joint experiment with professor from Kazimierz university
The head of the Department of Optoelectronic Materials at Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz, Poland, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Yuriy Zorenko, visited K. Zhubanov Aktobe Regional University and conducted experimental work together with the university’s researchers.
Professor Zorenko is working within the framework of the scientific project "Experimental Study of Fundamental Mechanisms for Increasing the Luminescence Yield of Ionic Crystals at Room Temperature," led by scientist Kuanyshbek Shunkeev from the Radiation Physics of Materials Research Center. Additionally, as part of an initiative to involve foreign specialists in the educational process, lectures are being conducted for doctoral students, master’s students, and undergraduates in the "Physics" educational program.
"Together with the research group led by Kuanyshbek Shunkeev, we are developing a special type of optical materials – scintillators, which serve to convert and emit light. It is also important to focus on educational programs, especially when they are related to luminescent materials used in various production methods. I will also be delivering a series of lectures. The first cycle of lectures will cover new materials in mechanical engineering. I will introduce popular and modern methods for producing materials in different crystalline forms, such as crystals, films, powders, and nanopowders. It is crucial to study the properties of such diverse materials because their characteristics always depend on the method of fabrication," said Yuriy Zorenko.
Kuanyshbek Shunkeev spoke about ongoing joint scientific projects with Professor Zorenko: "We are publishing a number of scientific articles and collaborating on the training of young specialists. Currently, we are working on studying the properties of oxides and alkali crystals, as well as developing sensor detectors needed for use in nuclear power plants," he noted.
It is worth mentioning that Yuriy Zorenko is a globally recognized scientist, the author of more than 300 scientific articles and the leader of over 60 scientific projects. Among his international projects are INTAS, NATO, Horizon 2020, NANOLUX 2014 ID 286, and Opus 24 LAP. Professor Zorenko is a member of the Polish Physical Society and holds a high reputation in the scientific community. His H-index in Scopus is 35, indicating the high level of his research work. Additionally, his patents are registered with European and Polish patent offices.
