Sociologist Elmira Otar shares her expertise

Sociologist, PhD, and associate professor at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Elmira Otar, delivered a lecture at Zhubanov University. The scholar presented her research on the role of women in shaping identity within ethnic communities.

In her report, Elmira Otar highlighted the key functions of women in preserving and developing ethnic identity, emphasizing their role in the social structure of ethnic groups. She underlined the importance of women in maintaining national and cultural identity.

Additionally, she explored various aspects of identity formation within women’s communities, including the preservation of traditions, the use of native languages, knowledge of ethnic history, cultural and social practices, and the active participation of women in public life.
