The Academic Mentor at the Aktobe Campus of Heriot-Watt University provides comprehensive support to students aimed at fostering their academic and personal development. Key responsibilities include facilitating students’ adaptation to the university’s educational environment, with a particular focus on supporting international students, addressing academic and personal issues affecting performance, and organizing additional resources and activities to enhance students’ motivation and engagement.
As part of the role, the Academic Mentor monitors students’ academic performance, offers advisory support, and ensures effective communication between students, faculty, and administrative departments. Special attention is given to creating an environment conducive to successful learning, professional growth, and collaboration with the university’s international campuses.
