THE HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT

In April 2004, after the establishment of the university, the Department of Design was opened at the Technical Faculty of Aktobe State University named after K. Zhubanov. The initiator of the department's opening and its first head was Adilgali Abdigalievich Sagimbaev, a candidate of pedagogical sciences and a member of the Union of Designers of Kazakhstan. He led the department from 2004 to 2010. During this period, the following specializations were opened: 050421.01 — "Architectural Design" and 050421.02 — "Graphic Design."

From 2010 to 2018, the department was headed by Boarnbay Murzagaliyevich Momenov, a candidate of pedagogical sciences and a member of the Union of Designers of Kazakhstan. Since 2019, the department has been managed by Mergenbay Seyplmalikovich Kurgambekov, a candidate of pedagogical sciences and a member of the Eurasian Union of Designers.

The Department of "Artistic Labor and Design," established in June 2019, offers education in four educational programs:

• Fashion Design

6B01405 — Visual Arts, Artistic Labor, Graphics and Projecting
6B07207 — Technology and Construction of Light Industry Products
6B01406 — Artistic Education

Since 2021, the department has also offered a scientific and pedagogical track within the educational program 7M01405 — Visual Arts, Artistic Labor, Graphics and Projecting. These programs aim to develop the creative and professional skills of students in the fields of design and art education, enabling them to successfully integrate into the modern labor market.

At the Department of "Artistic Labor and Design," the most popular educational programs among students are:

Design (Graphic, Architectural, Fashion Design): This program attracts students interested in visual aesthetics, creative solutions, and the application of design in various fields.

Visual Arts, Artistic Labor, Graphics, and Projecting: This program is aimed at those who want to develop their skills in the visual arts and master graphic techniques.

Technology and Construction of Light Industry Products: Students interested in manufacturing processes and fashion choose this program to gain practical skills in design and production.

Artistic Education: This program is popular among those who wish to become educators in the field of art, teaching future generations creative disciplines.
