SDG History
On January 1, 2016, the world officially launched the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development – a plan for active transformation based on 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aimed at addressing pressing global issues. Each of the 17 SDGs covers specific thematic areas, including, among others, eradicating poverty, achieving gender equality, providing clean water and sanitation, promoting sustainable economic growth, combating climate change and protecting biodiversity. The goals are interconnected and interdependent, which demonstrates the complex and multifaceted nature of global issues.
