Academic mobility is the transfer of students to study or conduct research for a certain academic period: a semester or an academic year in another higher education institution (within the country or abroad) with the mandatory re-crediting of mastered educational programmes in the form of credits in their home institution.

External academic mobility is a study of students in foreign partner-universities, as well as the work of teachers-researchers in foreign educational or scientific institutions.

Internal academic mobility is the training of students, as well as the work of teachers-researchers in the leading Kazakhstan universities.
