The Entrepreneurship Development and Entrepreneurial Environment initiatives are led by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Division within the Department of Science and Innovation at K. Zhubanov University.
Since September 2023, the Start-Up Academy has been operational, hosting over 50 resident members.

The Start-Up Academy serves as a hub providing comprehensive knowledge and tools to launch businesses within the framework of Zhubanov University. Its program is built on a combination of techniques and methodologies designed to cultivate entrepreneurial thinking, impart critical knowledge, and foster networking for creating investment-attractive projects.
Objectives of the Start-Up Academy:
- Establishing an environment that facilitates the exchange of resources, personnel, ideas, and equipment between the academic and industrial sectors of the region.
- Strengthening connections between the university and local industries.
- Supporting the formation and growth of new enterprises initiated by students and young faculty members, promoting innovative technologies.
- Advancing student and faculty entrepreneurship while facilitating the commercialization of projects.
Services Offered:
- Practical Training: Providing incubation-based programs that teach essential business skills required for young entrepreneurs to succeed.
- Consultation: Offering expert guidance on economic, financial, investment, and taxation-related matters for emerging entrepreneurs.
- Competitions: Organizing case championships to solve challenges and startup project competitions.
- Prototyping Support: Facilitating prototype development and testing using laboratory facilities.
Current Student Projects:
Students are actively engaged in various projects under the Start-Up Academy, leveraging its resources and support.
The Academy collaborates closely with Aqtobe IT Hub and Kaubia, a partner of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), in advancing innovative policy frameworks for transition economies under the UNECE Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA). Additionally, it participates annually in workshops by the ERG Student Entrepreneurship Ecosystem.
