Ethics Committee
Ensuring compliance with the principles of research ethics, academic integrity and the protection of research participants
1. General Information
The Ethics Committee of the Non-Profit Joint-Stock Company “K. Zhubanov Aktobe Regional University” reviews research materials submitted by students, master’s students, doctoral students, graduates of master’s and doctoral programmes, academic staff, researchers and other persons conducting research at the University or other organisations.
Following the review of the submitted materials, the Ethics Committee issues a conclusion on whether the research complies with ethical requirements at the stages of planning, conducting the study and disseminating its results.
- compliance with the rights, safety and well-being of research participants;
- protection of personal data and confidential information;
- compliance with requirements for the protection of animals and the environment;
- compliance with the principles of academic integrity;
- the use or non-use of artificial intelligence technologies in the preparation of dissertations, research articles, books, monographs and other research works.
The primary purpose of the Ethics Committee is to ensure that research complies with international principles and standards of research ethics, the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the University’s internal regulations.
2. Composition of the Ethics Committee
The Ethics Committee includes representatives of the academic staff, researchers and other relevant specialists. The full membership of the Committee is approved by an official order of the University.
3. Procedure for Obtaining Ethical Approval
A conclusion confirming that the research complies with ethical standards is issued by the Ethics Committee on the basis of a written application from the research initiator and the documents required for the ethical review.
