The Department of “Informatics and Information Technologies” is a core structural subdivision of the university. The main focus of the disciplines taught is closely related to providing education in the fundamental foundations of information technologies for the high-quality mastering of specialized disciplines of technical, economic, and other specialties.
The Department of “Informatics and Information Technologies” trains specialists in the following educational programs in accordance with the state standard of general education for higher education institutions:

7M06103 COMPUTER ENGINEERING AND SOFTWARE (Master’s degree, 2 years of study in the scientific and pedagogical track)
The Department graduates bachelors who are able to use modern computer technology, apply algorithmic languages and programming technologies to develop software for automating enterprise activities, create Web applications for the Internet, administer computer networks, develop multimedia, hypertext, client-server and mobile applications, intelligent learning systems, as well as augmented and virtual reality systems.
The faculty staff of the Department ensures the educational process in all areas of training implemented at the university for the disciplines “Informatics” and “Information Technologies.” In the implementation of educational and pedagogical activities, modern competence-based forms and methods of the educational process are applied, aimed at developing the abilities and readiness of students for professional activity in various socio-production conditions.
In the 2019–2020 academic year, the Department of “Informatics and Information Technologies” opened 3 bachelor’s degree educational programs and 2 master’s degree educational programs: 6B01509 Mathematics–Informatics, 6B01510 Physics–Informatics, 6B06105 Computer Engineering, 7M01503 Informatics, 7M06103 Computer Engineering and Software.
On Knowledge Day – September 1 of the 2019–2020 academic year – in the nomination “BEST DEPARTMENT,” the Department of “Informatics and Information Technologies” took second place and received two monoblock computers.
