
Scientific Legacy of Askar Zhubanov: New Multimedia Classroom Opened
Today, a modern multimedia classroom was inaugurated at the N. Baiganin academic building of Zhubanov University in honor of the founder of the Kazakh National Language Corpus, Doctor of Philology, and Professor Askar Kudaibergenovich Zhubanov.
The opening ceremony was attended by the university administration, faculty members, linguistics scholars, representatives of the intellectual community, students, and Askar Zhubanov’s wife, Elmira Zhubanova.
The new classroom is fully equipped with modern multimedia language lab devices. Additionally, it features a collection of books, textbooks, and monographs authored by the distinguished scholar. Speaking at the ceremony, Elmira Zhubanova shared memories about the scientist’s life and work and expressed gratitude to the university leadership for supporting this significant initiative.
Following the classroom’s inauguration, an online seminar was held on the topic "Askar Zhubanov and Computational Linguistics." This event provided a platform to discuss Zhubanov’s groundbreaking contributions to linguistics, particularly his leading role in the development of the Kazakh National Language Corpus. The seminar also explored the role of artificial intelligence in education and emerging trends in linguistics and language studies.
Scholars from the Akhmet Baitursynov Institute of Linguistics participated in the seminar, exchanging views on modern approaches to studying Askar Zhubanov’s scientific heritage and new opportunities in the field of linguistics.
It is worth noting that Askar Zhubanov, as the founder of the Kazakh National Language Corpus, made a significant contribution to the development of linguistics. The National Corpus serves as an essential tool for researchers across various disciplines, including journalists, literary scholars, and humanities experts.
