“Silver university” project launched at Zhubanov university

Today, Zhubanov University held a grand opening ceremony for the "Silver University" project. This year, 170 participants have registered for the program, marking a significant increase compared to last year, when over 90 elderly individuals received free training in various courses.  

In her opening speech, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Lyudmila Myasnikova emphasized that the "Silver University", launched in 2021 as part of the “Lifelong Learning” concept, is a socially significant and successfully implemented initiative. The project aims to improve the quality of life for elderly individuals by providing them with new learning opportunities.  
This year, the "Silver University" project offers courses in several key areas, including:  Kazakh language, English language, Digital literacy, Therapeutic physical training, Chess, "Waltz of Eternal Youth", Sewing, Handcrafting decorative accessories from wool, Resource support and harmony (psychology)  

The primary goal of the project is to equip elderly participants with modern digital skills, support their personal growth, and enhance their active living abilities. Additionally, the initiative contributes to health improvement, spiritual enrichment, and physical development. Alongside theoretical and practical lessons, participants will have the opportunity to engage in masterclasses, training sessions, discussions, and interactive activities. The courses will be taught by faculty members from Zhubanov University, and each participant will receive a special certificate upon completion.  

Following the opening ceremony, an open lecture on "National Values as the Foundation of Education" was held. The lecture was delivered by Professor Gulshat Bakhtiyarova, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences.
