Students of Zhubanov university presented their best projects at the republic festival

As part of the Year of Vocational Professions announced by the Head of State, the largest event in the field of technical and vocational education – the "City of Vocational Professions" festival – was held in Astana. This festival made a significant contribution to the development of vocational education and production in Kazakhstan, offering new opportunities for young specialists.

At the national festival, the "Oil Angels" team, consisting of students from the Technical Faculty of K. Zhubanov Aktobe Regional University, achieved exceptional success, taking first place.

The group’s leader, Zhadyra Sarkulova, Associate Professor of the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering, highlighted that the hackathon held as part of the festival became an essential platform for developing future professional skills.

"In our project, we presented methods for using artificial intelligence for predictive maintenance of bearings. In the metallurgical and oil and gas industries, critical equipment components such as rolling mill bearings, pumps, and compressors wear out quickly due to high loads. Failures of these components can lead to unexpected equipment downtime, million-dollar losses, and production disruptions. Traditional diagnostic methods rely on scheduled or emergency repairs, which are not efficient. A predictive maintenance system can be developed to monitor bearing wear in real-time using IoT sensors and predict failures through AI algorithms. Our project is based on an AI model that can be used in the industrial sector, and it received high praise from the jury," said the team leader.

In this competition, future engineers and researchers presented concrete solutions for developing the role of artificial intelligence in industry. Each team utilized modern technologies in their projects and demonstrated ways to modernize vocational professions in industrial sectors.

Another team from Zhubanov University, "TechDigital," took third place in the category "Manufacturing, Oil and Gas Industry, and Metallurgy." This team also presented new technologies and innovative solutions in their project to enhance industrial efficiency.

It is worth noting that representatives of major industrial enterprises, students, and specialists from technical and vocational education organizations participated in the large-scale event. The unique-format festival became the first official event launching the Year of Vocational Professions. Participants had the opportunity to learn about various professions and try their hand in different areas of the economy using interactive platforms and specialized equipment.

Congratulations to the winning students of K. Zhubanov Aktobe Regional University on their outstanding achievements!
