
Kazakhstan togyzqumalaq championship kicks off
Today, the official opening ceremony of the Republic of Kazakhstan Classical Individual Togyzqumalaq Championship for men and women was held at Zhubanov University.
The ceremony was attended by the university’s rector, Laura Karabasova; Head of the Aktobe Regional Department of Physical Culture and Sports, Meyrambek Makhambetov; national Togyzqumalaq coach and Honored Coach of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Daulet Abdykarimov; Director of the Regional Specialized Youth Sports School, Zhanar Sagizbayeva; and Chairman of the Council of Sports Veterans, Baktygali Shokaev.
In her welcoming speech, Rector Laura Karabasova emphasized the role and significance of Togyzqumalaq in the country’s national culture and expressed gratitude to the coaches and athletes for their contributions to the development of this national sport.
Meyrambek Makhambetov and Daulet Abdykarimov also addressed the participants, wishing them success in the competition.
The championship has brought together 170 players from across the country. Throughout the tournament, the strongest players will be determined from 20 competing teams. The championship will continue until February 20.
