Akimats awarded educational scholarships to students

For the 2025–2026 academic year, applications for state educational grants from local executive bodies have begun on a competitive basis. Every year, akimats allocate grants for targeted training in priority specialties.

This year, local executive bodies have provided 1,544 educational scholarships. It should be noted that the akimat of the capital allocated 526 scholarships — the highest figure among all akimats. East Kazakhstan region is in second place with 299 grants, followed by Shymkent city – 285, Atyrau region – 265, Abai region – 200, Turkestan region – 180, West Kazakhstan region – 128, and Mangystau region – 108. The remaining regions provide fewer than 100 grants.

To participate in the competition for an educational grant, applicants must submit an application to the university admissions committee. They must also provide educational documents, the UNT certificate, a copy of their identity card, and documents confirming preferential status (if applicable). Information about application deadlines can be obtained from akimats as well as from university admissions committees. The decision to award a grant is made by a special commission established under the akimat. Admission to higher education institutions will end on August 25.
