From Classroom to Industry: Aktobe Students’ Project Introduced into Oil Production


An oil company has acquired a monitoring system developed by students from Aktobe and is now implementing it at local oil fields.
The innovation, created by students of Aktobe Regional University named after K. Zhubanov, has already attracted the attention of mining companies and is being introduced into production processes. According to Azattyq Rýhy, citing the university’s press service, the student project has proven to be in demand in the oil and gas industry.
According to the university, students Ramzan Abdullin and Roman Sokolov designed a system for monitoring production facilities.
The system allows real-time monitoring of well pressure, temperature, and output, helping detect malfunctions and prevent accidents. It also provides an interactive map and analytics for managers, as well as an offline mode for operators working in remote fields.
JSC “KMK Munay” expressed interest in the innovation and acquired the project while keeping copyright with the students. Company representatives noted that the system will improve efficiency and reduce the risk of accidents.
Zhubanov University emphasized that the successful commercialization of the development is an important step for young professionals. This serves as an example of how student initiatives can find real-world applications and contribute to the development of domestic technologies.
