Aktobe celebrates Togyzkumalak Day
On September 9, 2025, a festive event dedicated to the Day of Togyzkumalak — the national intellectual heritage — took place in Aktobe’s Triathlon Park.
The celebration was supported by the Aktobe Regional Government, the Regional Federation of Togyzkumalak, and the public foundation “Қабақ баба.”
The Day of Togyzkumalak is an important date, celebrated annually in Kazakhstan on September 9 as a holiday of the national game. Its purpose is to promote the intellectual heritage of the ancestors among the younger generation.
Residents of the city, cultural representatives, schoolchildren, students, and fans of the game all took part in the festivities.
As part of the event, the exhibition “National Identity” was organized, showcasing the works of regional masters and artists. Items decorated with Kazakh embroidery were warmly received by the audience. Adding to the festive atmosphere were national songs and kui performed by local musicians.
Small contests were also held among the spectators, and everyone had the chance to test their skills in togyzkumalak. Winners and active participants were awarded letters of gratitude and special prizes.
