Turkologist Scholar Met with Young Researchers

With the support of Zhubanov University, Professor Orhan Söylemez from Kastamonu University of the Republic of Türkiye delivered a guest lecture at the K. Satpayev School-Lyceum.

Orhan Söylemez is a Turkologist scholar who conducts in-depth research on Kazakh literature and came from Türkiye specifically to lecture master’s and doctoral students of the Faculty of Philology.

During the meeting, Professor Söylemez spoke about his research on the history of the formation of Kazakh literature, the interconnection of the literatures of Turkic peoples, and his work on studying the legacy of prominent figures such as Abai Kunanbayev, Zhambyl Zhabayev, Qudaibergen Zhubanov, and Abish Kekilbayev. He also shared his experience in establishing academic ties with Kazakhstan and discussed the role of Kazakh literature in science and the global literary space.

The event was attended by Gulnara Obayeva, Head of the Department of Kazakh Literature at Zhubanov University, and Yesim Kenesov, a doctoral student of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics, who contributed to the academic and substantive direction of the meeting.

School and lyceum students, in turn, asked questions about the scholar’s work and current trends in the development of Kazakh literature, and exchanged views on writing and publishing academic papers.

The lecture by the Turkologist scholar broadened the scientific outlook of young researchers and students and strengthened their interest in literature.
