Meeting with the European Union Delegation: A New Impetus for International Projects
Johannes Baur, Head of Cooperation at the Delegation of the European Union to Kazakhstan, paid a working visit to Zhubanov University.
During the visit, the guest was introduced to the university’s research potential, opportunities for international academic partnerships, and modern infrastructure, and also met with students. The meeting included a detailed discussion of key areas of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union, as well as the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ and Horizon programmes. Particular attention was given to the importance of these initiatives for academic mobility and support of research and innovation projects.
Within the framework of Erasmus+, 27 students enhanced their knowledge in pedagogy, natural sciences, and technical disciplines through academic mobility programmes in Lithuania, Spain, and Poland. This reflects the university’s active engagement in the international educational space and the sustainable development of its strategic partnerships.Alpamys Asabayev, Education Programme Coordinator at the EU Delegation to Kazakhstan, explained the mechanisms for obtaining grant funding under the Horizon research and innovation programme and provided information on the application procedures and requirements.
In his remarks, Johannes Baur expressed confidence in the further strengthening of strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and the European Union through academic cooperation.
Representatives of the «Science and Innovation» Corporate Fund, who attended the meeting, emphasized the Fund’s comprehensive support in implementing international projects and joint research initiatives.
