Professor Gulbanu Izbasarova Awarded the Naily Bazanova Prize

Professor and Doctor of Historical Sciences Gulbanu Bolatovna Izbasarova has been awarded the Naily Bazanova Prize for Kazakhstani women scientists, established by the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Naily Bazanova Prize is an honorary award aimed at encouraging women researchers who have achieved outstanding scientific results, made significant discoveries, and contributed greatly to the development of applied research and the promotion of scientific achievements. This year, the prize was awarded to 66 female researchers.

Gulbanu Bolatovna is the author of more than 150 educational, methodological, and scientific publications. She is a member of the European Society for Central Asian Studies (ESCAS), the Central Eurasian Studies Society (CESS), and the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies (ASEEES).

In 2022, she was awarded the Medal “For Contribution to the Development of Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan” by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Professor Gulbanu Bolatovna’s research focuses on the history of Kazakhstan, particularly the political, ethnic, and social processes in the history of the Great Steppe. Her work makes a significant contribution to the development of Kazakhstani historical scholarship.
