Student Choir: A Combination of Creativity and Professional Excellence
The university’s student choir won 1st place at the international choral festival-competition “Zhubanov Spring – 2026,” demonstrating a high level of professionalism and performance culture.
This achievement is the result of long-standing traditions, systematic training, and continuity in artistic development.
The student choir of the Department of Music and Choreography at the Faculty of Professional and Creative Education has been developing continuously since 1989 and has established itself as a creative school with rich traditions.
Performances by more than 100 students and concert tours in cities such as Astana, Oral, Almaty, Aktau, and Tashkent demonstrate the choir’s high academic level and extensive stage experience.
The professional potential of the choir is reflected in well-known performers who were part of it at different times. Artists such as Svetlana Aitbayeva, Manzura Saparova, Askhat Targyn, Nurbolat Abdullin, Arman Zhienaliyev, and Yerkebulan Kumarov are notable graduates of this creative environment. The work of Zhibek Kapanova and Aigul Baishukurova is considered an important stage in the formation of this school.
Currently, the choir is led by Merbol Kuspanov, an Honored Cultural Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, an international competition laureate, and a graduate of the Kurmagazy Kazakh National Conservatory.
His professional approach is focused on the systematic development of choral culture, maintaining stage discipline, and ensuring high vocal standards. The choir is recognized not only as a creative platform for students, but also as an environment that shapes professional standards and aesthetic taste.
