Academic Environment: Education, Research, and International Integration

A regular meeting of the Academic Council was held, where key issues related to education, research, and academic activities were discussed. During the meeting, the Director of the Department of Strategic and International Development, Akerke Ayaganova, presented a report on the current state of the university’s internationalization.

The report highlighted achieved results and outlined key priorities, including expanding international academic partnerships, developing academic mobility for students and faculty, and improving strategies for attracting international students.

In the 2025–2026 academic year, the university hosted 24 international scholars from Turkey, United Kingdom, South Korea, China, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Egypt, Canada, and Poland.

As part of the Bolashak International Scholarship, 9 faculty members are currently undergoing professional development in the USA, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Turkey. Under the Erasmus+ program, one faculty member completed an internship in Poland.

In addition, 99 international students studied at the university under academic mobility programs in the 2025–2026 academic year. The total number of international students enrolled between 2023 and 2025 reached 171.

During the meeting, Member of the Board and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Lyudmila Myasnikova, presented documents on approving the teaching workload and academic calendar for the 2026–2027 academic year. Member of the Board and Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, Rakhym Beknazarov, presented a report on approving dissertation topics for doctoral students admitted in the winter intake of the 2025–2026 academic year.

In addition, on the occasion of Scientists’ Day, a number of professors and lecturers were awarded departmental honors from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Special diplomas and certificates were also presented to the winners of the «Excellence of the Year» competition held in the fields of natural and humanities sciences as part of the Month of Science.
