International Forum «Healthy Generation — Wealth of the Nation» Dedicated to Children’s Digital Safety
The 4th International Forum «Healthy Generation — Wealth of the Nation» was held at Zhubanov University with the support of the National Commission on Women Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event focused on improving digital literacy, adapting society to digital realities, and ensuring safety and the protection of rights in the online environment, with particular attention given to children as the most vulnerable group. Unfortunately, many children and adolescents today face online threats but do not report them to adults, which leaves them alone with their problems.
The dialogue platform brought together a diverse audience, including students, faculty members, representatives of law enforcement agencies, and leading national experts in child protection, digital technologies, cybersecurity, and education.
The Ombudsman for Children’s Rights of the Aktobe region, Aigul Nurkeyeva, spoke about the work of regional child rights commissioners, the establishment of child protection departments, and the implementation of psychological support centers and QR-based rapid response systems in schools. She noted that in 2025, 50% of calls to the psychological support hotline were related to bullying. While bullying was previously limited to school environments, cyberbullying now extends beyond educational institutions.
IT analyst Timur Bektur highlighted the risks associated with the use of artificial intelligence chatbots such as ChatGPT and Gemini, particularly the importance of not sharing personal data online.
Head of the Department of Economic Investigations of the Aktobe region, Zhadan Bisenbin, shared recommendations on how to protect oneself from cyber fraud.
The forum also featured Kazakh educator and Master of Chemical Sciences Ulan Ussenov, who became widely known for his educational content on social media. He shared his experience in engaging students through digital learning materials and encouraged teachers to embrace innovation in education.
Students showed strong interest in the discussions, asked thoughtful questions, and received detailed responses from the experts.
It is worth noting that the «Healthy Generation — Wealth of the Nation» forum has served for four consecutive years as a key regional platform for discussing strategic youth development issues. Today, Zhubanov University is not only an educational hub but also a center for social initiatives, forming a sustainable ecosystem of youth support in which the digital environment is viewed not as a risk zone, but as a space for knowledge and safety.
