Council of Elders Discusses Artificial Intelligence and Academic Research
An ordinary meeting of the Council of Elders was held at the K. Zhubanov Aktobe Regional University. During the meeting, a number of important agenda items were reviewed.
Zhainagul Kartbaeva, Dean of the Faculty of Professional and Creative Studies, and Boranbai Momenov, Associate Professor and member of the Council of Elders, delivered a report titled "Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development: Leading Models in Faculty Practice." The speakers focused on integrating AI technologies into the educational process, university development paths in the context of digital transformation, and the cultivation of modern digital competencies.
Associate Professor Akhmet Myrzagaliev, also a member of the Council of Elders, presented a report on "Studying Water Scarcity, Freshwater Shortages, Floods, Clear-Air Turbulence, and Earthquakes, and Engaging University Youth in Academic Research in These Areas Using AI Technologies." The report provided a detailed analysis of pressing issues in the study of natural and man-made disasters, as well as ways to leverage AI capabilities for their prediction and analysis.
During the session, Zhaishylyk Sartabanov, Chairman of the Council of Elders, shared his insights on the Council's future work directions and organizational matters, putting forward several proposals.
Participants discussed the potential of artificial intelligence in education and academic research, the university's strategic goals amid digital advancement, and mechanisms for actively involving students and young scientists in research activities.
Following the discussions, the members of the Council of Elders shared their feedback and adopted the relevant proposals.
