Zhubanov University Scholars Among the Country’s Most Influential Researchers

The National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan has published a ranking of researchers affiliated with Kazakhstani institutions, based on citations of their scientific publications from 2021 to 2025.

The ranking was compiled using data from international scientific databases, including Web of Science, Scopus, InCites, SciVal, and Crossref.

According to data as of June 2026, Laura Karabassova, Chair of the Management Board and Rector of Zhubanov University, PhD, Associate Professor, ranked fourth among the 100 most cited researchers in the field of education, maintaining her strong position among the country’s leading scholars.

Researchers from the Faculty of Pedagogy and Educational Management were also included in the top 100. Aigulden Togaybayeva, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences and Associate Professor, ranked 36th; Dinara Ramazanova, PhD and Associate Professor, ranked 39th; and Meiramgul Yesengulova, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences and Associate Professor, ranked 98th.

The university’s researchers also achieved strong results in mathematics. Sandugash Mynbayeva, PhD and Associate Professor, ranked 32nd, while Madina Tleubergenova, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and Associate Professor, ranked 41st. The list also included Altynshash Bekbauova, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and Associate Professor, who ranked 62nd; Askarbek Imanchiyev, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and Associate Professor, who ranked 76th; and Zakhira Nugayeva, PhD, who ranked 80th.

In the field of agriculture and veterinary science, Arman Isimov, PhD, ranked third, placing him among the country’s leading researchers.

In materials engineering, Amirbek Bekeshev, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and Associate Professor, ranked 61st; Bauyrzhan Kelamanov, Candidate of Technical Sciences and Professor, ranked 67th; and Assylbek Abdirashit, PhD, ranked 70th. In the field of chemical sciences, Adelya Kenzhebayeva ranked 58th.

In the field of history, Gulbanu Izbasarova, Candidate of Technical Sciences and Professor, ranked 12th, while Assylbek Maden, Candidate of Technical Sciences and Associate Professor, ranked 23rd.

In the field of Languages and Literature, Gulzhana Kuzembayeva, PhD and Associate Professor, ranked 13th. She also ranked 38th in the field of Humanities and Arts. The ranking also included Tanzilya Vakhitova, PhD and Associate Professor, who ranked 24th, and Abat Pangereyev, Doctor of Philological Sciences and Professor, who ranked 26th.

These results clearly demonstrate the high level of research conducted by Zhubanov University scholars, the relevance of their work within the international academic community, and their significant contribution to the development of national science.
