Graduates with a GPA of 3.33 or Higher Can Now Join the Civil Service Without a Competitive Selection Process
On 19 May 2026, the Head of State signed the new Law «On the Civil Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan». The document came into force on 1 July.
According to the new amendments, specifically Subparagraph 5 of Paragraph 6 of Article 28 of the Law, graduates who have completed higher or postgraduate education programmes with a GPA of no less than 3.33 may be appointed to administrative civil service positions without a competitive selection process, provided they apply within one year after graduation.
This opportunity is now available not only to holders of state educational grants, but also to graduates who studied on a fee-paying basis. In other words, all graduates who meet the established academic requirements are entitled to a simplified procedure for employment in the civil service.
