Social Assistance to Union Members of the Primary Trade Union Organization Regarding Material Support
Trade unions are public associations that play an important role in regulating labor relations and establishing a constructive dialogue between workers and employers, ensuring the protection of workers' rights and legitimate interests. The primary trade union organization of K. Zhubanov Aktobe Regional University is a fundamental collective consisting of more than nine hundred union members.
Guided by the tasks set for the workers of our state’s educational sector and the issues and initiatives addressed in the program documents and the Law on Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the university’s trade union focuses on the following areas:
Protection of social rights of industry workers
Monitoring compliance with labor laws and regulatory legal acts
Protection of professional interests and assistance in resolving labor disputes
Participation in organizing various events related to the education and upbringing of youth, etc.
At the recent congress of the “Amanat” party, special attention was paid to the importance of creating the necessary conditions for organizing the activities of each sector, “ensuring labor market efficiency and allowing each person to realize their potential.” In this regard, the university’s trade union organization is committed to more vibrant actions aimed at improving the social status of union members.
Special attention is paid to health programs, and up to 30% of union members receive treatment at sanatoriums during the additional vacations of teachers and staff.
Upon the request of union members, material assistance is provided according to the current rules, and charitable financial events of various levels are organized (86 people received different types of charitable assistance).
Participation in organizing professional and named holidays, rewarding workers and winners of various competitions, has become one of the traditional directions of the primary trade union organization’s work.
In anticipation of Teacher’s Day, union members were awarded the “Honorary Certificate” of the regional trade union organization and monetary prizes, as well as the “Honorary Certificate” of the Kazakhstan Industry Trade Union of Education and Science Workers.
Before the “Finance Day” holiday, union members were awarded the “Honorary Certificate” of the regional trade union organization and monetary prizes.
On December 16, for Independence Day of Kazakhstan, union members were awarded the “Honorary Certificate” of the Kazakhstan Industry Trade Union of Education and Science Workers, the “Honorary Certificate” of the regional trade union organization, and monetary prizes.
In honor of International Women's Day on March 8, union members of the Kazakhstan Industry Trade Union of Education and Science Workers received “Honorary Certificates,” and the regional trade union committee also awarded them.
To effectively organize leisure activities for faculty and staff, cultural, mass, and sports programs are implemented, various competitions are held, and events are financed:
- Providing flowers for the “Teacher’s Day” celebration.
- Awarding monetary prizes for “Senior Citizens’ Day” and giving gifts.
- Sponsorship of the winter sports festival among faculty and staff dedicated to Kazakhstan's Independence Day on December 16.
- Preparation of New Year’s gifts and surprises for the New Year; organization of New Year’s matinees for the children of primary trade union members.
- Sponsorship of the creative competition “Two Stars” among the faculty and staff, dedicated to International Women's Day on March 8.
- Preparation of flowers and gifts for International Women's Day on March 8.
- Financial sponsorship of the KVN competition among faculty and staff of K. Zhubanov Aktobe Regional University.
- Sponsorship of the patriotic song contest “Atameken,” dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day (May 7) and Victory Day (May 9).
Additionally, the trade union organization pays attention to compliance with internal labor regulations and improving working conditions. Participation in the preparation of labor contract projects and monitoring their implementation, as well as joint inspections of labor protection requirements and working conditions, contribute to the improvement of work quality in this area and help prevent labor conflicts through joint efforts.
“The success in a nation’s value system is achieved only by a nation that places knowledge first. Therefore, knowledge should be honored,” which is directly linked to the joint actions of administrative, labor, and public teams working in this area. Thus, the university's trade union organization sets tasks for educators to improve the quality of education, introduce advanced technologies into the educational system, raise the teacher’s status, etc., and actively participates in events aimed at shaping national consciousness among students and increasing competitiveness in the modern world. For example, conferences dedicated to anniversaries, scientific and labor activities of faculty and staff, expanded academic councils, and faculty councils are held. This year, the university celebrated the anniversaries of the faculty members, who serve as examples for the youth.
