Student Demographics and Gender Balance
The University regularly organises educational and awareness-raising activities aimed at promoting gender equality, non-discrimination and the prevention of violence within the academic community. These initiatives are designed to foster inclusive values, strengthen social responsibility and support a safe and respectful educational environment.
Among the key activities implemented are the “OpenSoz Lectorium” platform for open dialogue and exchange of views; a lecture on “Human Rights, Equality and Principles of Non-Discrimination”; a seminar-training programme for mentors titled “STOP Violence”; a roundtable discussion “Start Now to End Violence Against Women and Girls”; a thematic roundtable on “Family Values and National Upbringing”; and a roundtable on “Gender Policy and Equality in Public Life.”
The University has adopted an institutional policy aimed at preventing and addressing all forms of harassment, discrimination and inappropriate behaviour within the academic and working environment. This policy is designed to ensure a safe, inclusive and respectful space for learning, research and professional development for all students and staff.
Within the framework of this policy, the University has established clear mechanisms for awareness-raising, prevention and response to harassment-related cases, including confidential reporting procedures, impartial review processes and the implementation of appropriate corrective measures. Through these efforts, the University actively promotes a culture of mutual respect, gender equality and equal opportunities, contributing to a supportive and positive academic community.
