OUR CONTRIBUTION TO THE SDGs

SDG 3: GOOD HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages

The University is committed to promoting the health and well-being of its academic community by ensuring access to medical care, psychological support and opportunities for physical activity. Through the operation of a student polyclinic, on-campus medical points, mental health programmes and sports facilities, the University creates a supportive environment that contributes to a healthy and balanced student life.

Sports Facilities

The University actively promotes a healthy lifestyle by providing students and staff with broad opportunities for regular physical activity and participation in sports initiatives.

Annual events such as “Zhubanov Run”, university sports leagues, interfaculty tournaments, the traditional “Tolağai” sports festival, and the “Rector’s Cup” futsal competition encourage student engagement in recreational and competitive sports. University teams also demonstrate strong performance at the regional level, including achieving 1st place in the West Kazakhstan Futsal League.

More than 2,440 participants are involved in university sports activities each year. Students have free access to six sports facilities equipped for training in team sports, gymnastics and fitness programmes.

Center for Health and Well-Being

The University operates a dedicated Center for Health and Well-Being, aimed at supporting the mental and emotional health of both students and staff.

The Center employs 6 qualified psychologists who provide professional psychological counselling and support services.

As part of the university’s commitment to promoting well-being, employees are entitled to 5 free counselling sessions, while students can receive up to 10 free sessions.

These initiatives contribute to creating a supportive academic environment, reducing stress-related challenges and enhancing overall quality of life within the university community.

The activities of the Center directly support the achievement of SDG 3 — Good Health and Well-Being, by strengthening access to mental health services and promoting a healthy campus culture.
