CENTER FOR ACADEMIC AND RESEARCH EXCELLENCE
The University has established the Center for Academic and Research Excellence, aimed at strengthening research capacity, supporting innovation, and promoting technology transfer in collaboration with industry.
Within the framework of the Center, three modern scientific laboratories operate in the fields of metallurgy, materials science, chemistry, and environmental studies. These laboratories provide research services to enterprises in the mining and metallurgical sector and contribute to the development of applied scientific solutions relevant to regional industrial needs.
The Center plays an important role in enhancing practice-oriented education, enabling students to participate in real research projects, laboratory experiments, and engineering developments. Through partnerships with industrial organizations and public institutions, the University supports the commercialization of research results and the implementation of innovative technologies in the real economy.
WINTER AND SUMMER SCHOOLS
The University regularly organizes seasonal research schools aimed at strengthening the scientific and professional capacity of academic staff. Winter and Summer Science Schools provide lecturers and researchers with opportunities to develop advanced research skills, enhance publication activity, learn modern digital research tools, and explore international academic collaboration opportunities.
These schools serve as an important platform for continuous professional development, academic networking, and the exchange of best research practices.
STUDENT INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Since September 2023, the University has been operating the Start-Up Academy, which currently brings together more than 50 resident student entrepreneurs.
The Start-Up Academy serves as an innovative educational and practical platform that provides structured knowledge, entrepreneurial tools and mentorship support for launching business initiatives within the academic environment of Zhubanov University.
The Academy’s programme is based on a combination of modern methodologies aimed at developing entrepreneurial thinking, strengthening practical business competencies and fostering professional networking for the creation of investment-attractive projects.
To enhance the innovation ecosystem, the Academy actively cooperates with regional and international partners, including Aqtobe IT Hub, KAUBIA – a partner of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in advancing innovation policy approaches in transition economies, and regularly participates in workshops organised within the ERG Student Entrepreneurship Ecosystem.
INDUSTRY COLLABORATION AND INNOVATION
Zhubanov University actively develops partnerships with industrial enterprises, research institutes and technology companies to support innovation, commercialization of research results and technology transfer.
The University implements joint scientific projects, concludes cooperation agreements with business representatives and participates in grant programmes aimed at introducing environmentally friendly and high-tech solutions into production.
In recent years, the University has strengthened its research and innovation capacity through the implementation of commercialization projects, development of digital solutions, and expansion of cooperation with industrial and agricultural partners.
The results of scientific activity are reflected in a growing number of patents, applied research developments and practical engineering solutions. These initiatives contribute to regional economic development, sustainable industrial growth and the creation of innovation-driven infrastructure.
INNOVATION ECOSYSTEM AND SMART INFRASTRUCTURE
The Smart Zhubanov University project has been developed and implemented as an integrated digital ecosystem of services that automate educational, research and administrative processes across the University.
Smart Zhubanov University functions as a unique information and analytical hub that consolidates comprehensive institutional data within a single platform. Continuous efforts are underway to further expand and systematize the Smart University database, enhance the functionality of the SmartARSU mobile application, strengthen the capabilities of the Situation Centre, improve the Univer management system, and develop the University’s educational portal.
Zhubanov University provides access to a digital scientific library platform that allows students, academic staff and researchers to search the availability of books and educational resources online in advance.
The electronic library system also includes access to dissertations, academic publications and other research materials, supporting independent study, scientific activity and the development of an innovative academic environment.
The platform contributes to the modernization of research infrastructure, enhances access to knowledge resources and promotes the digital transformation of educational and research processes.
